How to Enable Direct Debit Reservations
- Turn on "Allow direct debit reservations" in Settings > Bookings > Under "Booking Features".
- Navigate to the activity you wish to enable Direct Debit Reservations for.
- Expand the "Reservations" section and set "Direct devit reservations only" to Yes (This does not mean 'standard' reservations cannot be made).
How Customers can use Direct Debit Reservations
- When making a Reservation, they follow the same process, selecting the date/time.
- If they select to make the booking as a reservation, and to repeat the booking then will have the option to Pay by Direct Debit, as well as to proceed as normal.
- If they choose to Pay by Direct Debit, they will be taken to GoCardless to setup a new Direct Debit mandate.
- Once the Mandate is confirmed, on the 24th of each month, the DD will run, and once payment is confirmed upgrade the following months reservations to full bookings, sending an email to the customer.
If the DD fails, on the 1st of the month they will be notified and their reservations will downgrade to standard reservation, giving them the days set to pay for them.
It is important to note to customers that any reservations to be paid by Direct Debit for the following month, must be made before the 24th. This is to ensure the Direct Debit has enough time to run, as they can take up to 7 days. If a customer attempts to make a reservation after the cut off for the next month, that includes reservations beyond the cutoff, those before will be made as normal reservations that must be paid within the cut off.
